Sefton PCT recognised for good practice in combating discrimination of Trans people

NHS Employers, which represents trusts in England on workforce issues, has recognised the work undertaken by NHS Sefton and Sefton Equalities Partnership to tackle harassment and discrimination of trans people.

Responding to research indicating that trans people often experience harassment from fellow employees, customers or clients, a transgender volunteer project was set up to support trans people in accessing the work environment. Through actions such as raising staff awareness on trans and gender identity issues and evaluating their recruitment and application processes....
