A partnership project between Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust and Age Concern, South Staffordshire enables volunteers to provide support and social interaction for older people on hospital wards. Following a six month pilot in 2007, the Trust has continued to support the work and Age Concern is recruiting up to 100 volunteers.
